| Kelantan's Peter Butler questions Safee Sali's move to Pelita Jaya ... Posted: 22 Dec 2011 11:00 PM PST Kelantan's new head coach Peter Butler believes that Malaysia's top striker, Safee Sali should be playing for bigger clubs in Indonesia rather than the likes of Pelita Jaya. Perplexed by the decision made by Safee, the 45-year-old Englishman, who speaks fluent Bahasa Malaysia and Indonesia, claims that Safee Sali should have chosen either the likes of Persib Bandung or Persija Jakarta to play for in the Indonesian Super League. "Pelita Jaya? I didn't know about that. I didn't know what was Safee thinking about," said the former BEC Tero Sasana coach. He made the remark when a journalist asked about his take on the current situation of Sali, who is in a limbo after the Indonesian Super League was not endorsed by the All Indonesia Football Association (PSSI). He refused to comment on the issue but claimed that the 27-year-old will make the right call if the problem escalates. "I've no comments on this situation. Safee would surely know what to do," said Butler, who once coached Persiba Balikpapan in the Indonesian Super League. Safee Sali has quelled rumours about his departure from Pelita Jaya as he is happy with his club. However, the Pelita Jaya captain has urged PSSI and Fifa to solve the crisis that would prevent him from featuring for the Malaysian national team. Butler was present during the Unity Cup match press conference in Kota Bharu. He will be leading his side against Indonesia Premier League side Persebaya Surabaya later on Friday and will head to Surabaya for the return leg on December 28. The friendly will be the first of its kind between Indonesian and Malaysian clubs as both countries are looking to develop their leagues and also gauge their teams' strengths. Kelantan will be debuting their new signings, strikers Denny Antwi, Mohammad Ghaddar and Azlan Ismail; midfielders Indra Putra Mahayuddin and Norfarhan Mohammad; and defender Azizi Mat Rose. | Safee Sali Thinking Leave Pelita Jaya Posted: 22 Dec 2011 02:51 PM PST Pelita Jaya Striker, Safee Sali, began to consider his future at Pelita Jaya. The player who is also a mainstay of the Malaysian national team is also intended to move from Pelita if the club got a sanction from the PSSI. As reported previously, Pelita threatened with sanctions because of play in the illegal league according to PSSI, Indonesia Super League (ISL). Not only the club, the players who are also involved in it also threatened not to be defending their respective national teams. This fact turned out to harass the mind of this 27-year-old player. "This issue is confusing me. I'm still awaiting a decision from the PSSI and FIFA, and hopefully it will explain everything. If there are sanctions (for Pelita), then I would choose to play outside of Indonesia. I have not really decided, but I still awaiting the development of the PSSI and FIFA, if I could still play for the national team, "said Safee Sali as reported by Goal.com. "They (FAM) monitor the progress here. FAM concerned with my being here because I'm a team player. Federation has always supported me to play at this club, and they saw my development here. I'm still hoping to play for the national team and I look forward to survive with Pelita Jaya, "he continued. One of the Officials Pelita Jaya, Rahim Soekasah, can not comment much about this issue. He said still looking at Pelita Safee feel happy and that means there's no problem. "What I heard so far is just a rumor. He definitely will stay with us," said Rahim. The same statement submitted by the Manager Pelita, Lalu Mara. "He (Safee) is our main striker. I hope it (Safee go) does not happen and I guess it will not happen because we play in official competitions. If that finally happens, we will search for a new striker," said Lalu Mara.
