| Safee Sali Signs RM2mil Contract | Sarawak Bloggers News Tribune Posted: 01 Feb 2012 03:44 AM PST
The contract will see Safee earn close to RM90,000 monthly, with perks such as a house, a car and a free air ticket to Kuala Lumpur. The contract will see Pelita Jaya pay Safee's taxes and appoint him a personal driver. It also states that Safee can be asked to play in any other clubs under the Pelita Jaya Cronus which include Australia's Brisbane Roar, who will be playing in the 2012 AFC Champion's League, CS Vise, who play in the Belgian second division, and SAD Uruguay. The club said that the offer was given as an appreciation of Safee's contribution to the club. In a brief statement, Safee said that he has yet to be banned by FIFA and had taken consideration of his participation in the national squad before signing the contract. He also said that he is proud to represent Malaysia, and hopes that he will be able continue to do so. The new contract puts Safee Sali as one of the highest paid players in the banned Indonesian Super League (ISL). Share this articleOther Post That May Interest You : |
| Safee Sali Joins the Ranks of Football Millionaires Posted: 01 Feb 2012 02:42 PM PST Football is the most popular team sport in the world. As a result, the top players are among the highest-paid athletes in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney all pull in monster salaries between RM 40-50 million a year, or close to a million ringgit a week on the high side. Our own national striker, Safee Sali, will now join this exclusive club of football millionaires – if not quite at that level. But Safee has become Malaysia's first football millionaire The 28-year-old skipper has confirmed that he has extended his contract with Jakarta club Pelita Jaya FC for two years, in a contract worth RM 2 million (yes, what Ronaldo makes in about 2 weeks). But this is not all. Safee's manager Zakaria Rahim said that under the new contract, Safee would receive numerous incentives, including fixed bonuses for matches, a house, car, driver and return tickets to Kuala Lumpur. So it all adds up nicely. The lucrative deal was apparently Pelita Jaya FC's acknowledgement of Safee's contribution to the club, a bit ironic given that Indonesia is our long-time football enemy. But our rivalry is in good spirits and Safee deserves this windfall. Widely regarded as the best Malaysian striker of his generation, he is a worthy ambassador and perhaps his next stop could be the more challenging leagues in Australia, Japan or even Europe. The Choice wishes Safee best of luck. Full content generated by Get Full RSS. |
